Source of My Power

You may be surprised to find out that Superman and I have some similar traits. We both get our power from the a force that sustains all life. Superman’s power source, the sun, does not actually come close to the power source that keeps this SuperMom able to accomplish supernatural tasks on a day to day basis. This SuperMom’s power source is the Son of God. He gives me the strength I need to live the day to day, to get through difficult times, to love people who are difficult to love, to help people when in need while doing it with a thankful heart.

Of course I don’t really think I have supernatural powers like the Superheros of the comic books but I do believe that everyone needs to access the supernatural power that only God can provide. How do we access this power? By giving our lives over to God and trusting in His love for us.

When life is good we get the false sense of having this power. We sometimes believe that our power is just as powerful as the All-Mighty, but it isn’t. The truth is we are powerless without our God. We have only the power of free-will. A power to make a choice between good and evil. The power to choose to love or hate. The power to choose whether to give or take. And the power to choose God or turn our backs.

Those of you who already access the power source that is Jesus Christ know what true power is. Those of you who rely on your own power are in danger, because without the power of God you are doomed. The forces that are against God will make you believe you are powerful but this is a false reality.

So I ask you, what is your power source?
