Organizing My Life - Not an Easy Task

Published at August 16th, 2007

I am not a naturally organized person. I often waste time looking for something because I failed to give it a designated spot and put it there. I admire people who are naturally organized but I guess I should be happy that I have a very creative side to my personality. Very creative minds seem to be unorganized minds. I am living proof of that fact.

So the kids start school next week and I am actually not all that stressed about it this year. I have been trying to keep on top of the laundry and dishes and that has made a world of difference. Those two chores are hard to get on top of when you get really behind so I am going to try and not let it get behind.

I am trying to organize my days better. I really need to get up earlier so I can be more productive sooner. I tried to do this last year but it didn’t last and then I went right back to my hectic life. Much of the time I look like a headless chicken, running around getting nothing done, but looking frantic and distressed.

I am learning that acquiring good habits takes a lot of discipline, which is another habit I lack in.  I have also learned that discipline requires action. As long as I keep moving toward the goal of living an organized life I will be improving my organization skills. So now that I have found my Living Organized book again I probably ought to start reading it again ;)

School Starts Soon! :) :(

Published at August 3rd, 2007

I have mixed feelings about school starting. As a homeschool mom this means a lot of work is ahead of me. I have to make sure the kids are doing their work on a daily basis, lesson planning, drive to classes, grades, reports, and blada blada blada. Do I sound a little stressed? Well, I am. I enjoy homeschooling but sometime it can get difficult.

I need to be sure I pray everyday before my feet hit the floor in the morning. You know people have told me that is the best time to pray - before you get out of bed. But my problem with that is that I can never remember to pray before my feet hit the floor. I guess I need to pray that God will bring it to my attention in the morning that I should pray for a good God honoring day ;) .

So, I am back from vacation and we had a great time. It was very relaxing and I loved how peaceful it was. I highly recommend vacationing. Our family doesn’t do it every year but I think we will have to make it a point to find the time and money to take a vacation. Here is a picture of myself and my kids with the Kings Canyon as a backdrop. Beautiful ain’t it ;) .

Vacation is Almost Here and I am Not Ready :(

Published at July 10th, 2007

I am starting to panic a little. We go on vacation in a couple of days and I don’t know if I am going to be ready. I have so much to do. :( I have started my lists which is a good thing but it’s making me realize how much I really have to do. I guess I need to keep praying ;)

A Vacation is Coming

Published at June 27th, 2007

I am so excited. Our family will actually be able to go on vacation this year. We are going to be spending a couple of weeks in the mountains away from cell phones and computers. I just have to figure out how to find time to get ahead of my blog posting. I am hoping to be able to get some articles written and timestamp them so that their is a post everyday on iwebis. I probably will only get a few posts done for Time To Budget and Horse Approved.

Gutting The House - It feels so good to get rid of junk!

Published at June 19th, 2007

Since school has been out a few weeks ago my kids have been doing an extreme house “gutting”. We have gotten ride of a lot of junk and moved some things to the garage. I am still a long way. Well, maybe not a long way away but I will not feel comfortable until it is all done. I shooting for July 4th because we are having a BBQ and inviting friends over.

I think the last time I really worked on gutting the house was way back in my FlyLady days.

It’s not fun being sick

Published at June 11th, 2007

I have a cold and I don’t like it :(. I can barely talk because my voice has decided to take a vacation. Some people (my kids especially) are probably happy about that but it’s not fun for me. I am not sure how this is going to affect the rest of my week. I just hope I don’t loose my voice completely.

In other news.. I have been working really hard on creating my new niche blogs. iwebis is doing well and getting steady traffic. Time To Budget has been generating some money and has had a steady flow of traffic as well. Now that I have more time I am trying to revive Horse Approved. It has been difficult to keep up with all of the blogs but I plan to get a good schedule going this summer so that I can keep up with all of my blogs.

Naked Baby Buns

Published at June 5th, 2007

The toddler is now being potty trained so one can see naked baby buns regularly around my house these days. It’s been almost 10 years since I have had to potty train a toddler so it’s been really fun. This time around I am much more relaxed. When I think back to when my oldest daughter was being potty trained I wonder why I was so stressed out. I guess we usually make all our mistakes on our first child.

The baby girls is learning and it’s so fun to watch. She is so proud of herself when she peepee’s in the potty. :) These are moments I hope I never forget.

School is Finally Over!!! Yippy!

Published at May 29th, 2007

My kids last day of school was today. This means I will now be able to relax a bit. I hope to take more walks, work with my horse, work online and all sorts of stuff. Oh, I can’t forget cleaning. The first week off we will be doing a major clean spree here at our house. No one seems to be excited about that but me.

A Good Relaxing Day :)

Published at May 27th, 2007

After having the stressful week I had last week I really needed a day like the one I had today. I didn’t have to get up early so I slept in until 9:30. Then I woke up and went to the couch where my sick son was watching a movie and slept another 30 minutes or so.
I decided to get up and try to be a little productive so I went and lounged (made her run around in a circle on a lead rope) my horse for a while. Then her and I jogged half way up a hill and walked back. I was trying to get her sweaty so that when I gave her a bath it would be good one for her. She didn’t really get that sweaty but I washed her really good anyway. I haven’t washed that horse like that in a long time.
At one point I just laid my head on her rump and it was so peaceful. Those of you who don’t have horses will probably not get it but there are just some experiences and moments that are just heaven. I love horses! Then I came in the house and took another nap.
Anyway, I felt good about my day because I wasn’t rushing around, I got lots of rest, I got some exercise, and I exercise and washed my horse. Ahhh! What a day!hitchingpost.JPG
