I decided a few weeks ago that I would try and consider my house work, homeschool , other daily chores and mother responsibilities as part of my “day job”. I know that may sound strange but it is really helping me stay focused.
I used to get on the internet (working) in the morning and that always turned out really bad because I would end up spending way to much time on it and neglect other things. So I decided if I view my day time chores as a job then maybe it would help. It has helped even though my day job doesn’t really end at all. I decided I would not go on the internet until after 5pm. I have to really try hard not to get online at all because it’s so easy to get caught up in work.
This is a part of my efforts in getting organized. I also want to get up before my kids and get some things done like reading and devotionals. It’s much easier to do things when the kids are not making noise. We will see how it goes.

I had the same problem. I started slotting my time since I have an issue doing one set of anything. I have to break it up like computer, chore, computer, chore… well kid and dog are in there too but you get my point.

I have the worst problem with getting distracted. This has helped me stay focussed. I also started a note book where I could put my blogging ideas or whatever in during the day. So if I get a brilliant idea I won’t loose it because I wrote it down. I have brilliant ideas on a regular basis

Hi Mona,
I’m trying to be more organized myself. The notebook is a great idea. I always have mine handy to jot down those ideas… otherwise they’re gone before you know it.
